Home Cookin 9.92 Released
This update fixes several bugs, adds import support for cookmate MCB
files, and improves the option to format recipe measurements.

Please Note: Windows may display an unknown file warning when you try to install. This is normal until enough users install the program to build a safe reputation. You can safely download Home Cookin and bypass the warning message to install it on your computer.
- Increased Web Import Timeout - A few web sites were taking longer to connect to, so I extended the timeout period to accommodate them.
- Recipe Hover Bug - You can hover your mouse over an ingredient on the Recipe screen, and click that word to search for groceries. This update fixes a bug that would cut off the last letter of the word you clicked on. It didn't matter much for recipe ingredients, but it showed up when clicking on source links.
- Improved Line Import - I recently discovered a few bugs in one of the oldest functions in Home Cookin. Despite years of use, they went unnoticed until now. I completely rewrote the function so it should be more reliable. This is mostly used when importing recipe files, but is also used in other areas of the program.
- Improved Import Identification - I improved the way the file import identifies various recipe formats.
- CSV Grocery Import - I fixed a small bug in CSV grocery imports.
- Import Crashing - After changing the measurement format on the Options screen, the program would crash when performing a file import. This is another bug that remained hidden for years as it took a unique sequence of operations to appear. I eventually tracked it down to a buffer being cleared, an easy fix once I found the cause.
- Info Text Imports - Information text will now import without formatting. This will better preserve generic text you import into Home Cookin.
- Info Text Formatting - Information text will no longer be reformatted, regardless of the measurement setting on the Options screen. Again, this will better preserve generic text you enter or import.
- Ingredient Alignments - Recipe ingredients will no longer be aligned if you select No Measurement Formatting on Options screen. If you don't want Home Cookin to reformat your recipe measurements, this will better preserve recipes the way you enter them.
- Cookmate Support - Home Cookin can now import Cookmate MCB recipe files.

Long Time Gone
Hey everyone. It has been quite a while since my last newsletter. We have
been much busier in retirement than I thought we would be, so I haven't
had much time to work on my software products. I do my best to answer
emails each morning, but that's about it these days.
I looked back through my Home Cookin to-do list and tried to fix as many issues as I could with this update. There are still a few issues I haven't been able to solve, like some web sites that block imports. I also have a long list of suggestions from many of you, but just didn't have the time to tackle the bigger requests. Maybe in the future...
We are hoping to do a road trip or two later this summer, but nothing is set in stone yet. So many ideas, so little time. :)
I hope you are all doing well. Thanks to everyone who checks in from time to time. Take care everyone!
